This role will work across key clients and new business and lead strategy development for multiple local, national, and global Weber Shandwick clients. The Senior Planner will report directly to the VP of Strategy and work closely with account and specialty leaders across the local office and the broader Weber Shandwick network.
Responsibilities:
- Extracting key observations from syndicated and client research and assisting with powerful primary research (and intelligence gathering techniques) where necessary
- Understand the nuances surrounding pop culture and human behavior and channel them into both the creative’ and business planning process
- Plan and manage research (primary and secondary, quantitative and qualitative) for existing and potential clients
- Ability to formulate, nurture and debate a point of view
- Distilling differentiated insights that can inspire creative and lead to innovative, exciting, conversation platforms
- Understand how content marketing, PR, advertising, and social media can combine to drive engaging work.
- Play a part in devising strategic thinking and action and be a champion for this thinking internally as well as with the client
- Collaborate with integrated teams from original brief through strategy, ideation, tactics, and execution
- Lead internal and client meetings, creative brainstorms and strategy sessions
- Support responses to new business opportunities and RFPs

- Ability to work directly with clients and on integrated agency teams to develop strong ongoing relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to stretch and taking different roles when necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree (BA or BS) required
- 5+ years of relevant strategic planning experience in a marketing or agency environment
- Experience directing research, analyzing the results, and clearly writing and presenting the findings
- Experience developing marketing strategies for consumer, B2B, and/or public affairs organizations
- Familiarity with different types of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and tools, and ability to apply them to a client challenge
- Firm understanding of how integrated marketing campaigns are developed and executed
- Familiarity with campaign planning and evaluation methodologies
- Effective team supervision and leadership experience
- Strong verbal presentation/storytelling skills, superior writing skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Social/Digital/Content experience is a plus
